Concealed Carry Permit Course (MD Wear & Carry + Multi-State Permits)

ShahlyVisions by SirShahly LLC’s 16-hour Concealed Carry Course exceeds the requirements mandated by the Maryland State Police. This course also includes guidance on applying for non-resident concealed carry permits in Pennsylvania and Florida. With these three permits, you can legally conceal carry in 38 states! If you’re a Maryland resident, you’ll also receive your MD Handgun Qualification License (HQL) for FREE!

Class Details

Classes are taught  BySirShahly, a certified NRA Pistol Instructor and Maryland Qualified Handgun Instructor (QHIC). Training takes place at our partner range, providing a professional and safe learning environment.

Who Should Attend?

• Beginners Welcome! No prior experience is required.

• This course satisfies the Maryland Wear & Carry permit training requirements.

• It is recommended (but not required) for carrying a handgun in Pennsylvania.

• The training meets the requirements to apply for Florida and Virginia non-resident concealed carry permits.

• Your certificate may also be accepted for additional state permits beyond MD, PA, and FL.

• We’ll guide you through obtaining your Maryland HQL for free!

What You'll Learn

This course is designed to give you practical self-defense knowledge and firearm skills, covering:

Firearms Training & Shooting Techniques

• Proper grip, stance, and trigger control

• Dry fire drills using the MantisX training system

• Shooting techniques for low-light situations

• Using cover and concealment effectively

Concealed Carry Gear & Equipment

• Overview of different holsters, gun attachments, and flashlights

• How to choose the right self-defense firearm

• Best practices for safely carrying and storing your firearm

Final Proficiency Test

At the end of the course, students will complete a Maryland State Police-approved shooting qualification. To pass, you must demonstrate safe gun handling skills and achieve a minimum score of 70%.

Important Notes

• The class material is based on USCCA’s "Concealed Carry & Home Defense Fundamentals" book. This book is available for purchase in class or can be ordered in advance.

• Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a Firearm Safety Training Certificate.

• This certificate may be used to apply for a concealed carry permit in multiple states, including Maryland, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Virginia.

• Completion of training does not guarantee approval for the Maryland Wear & Carry permit—final decisions are at the discretion of the Maryland State Police.

What’s NOT Included?

• Maryland LiveScan fingerprinting

• Maryland State Police application fees

• Ink fingerprinting for Florida and Virginia applications

Firearm & Ammo Requirements

• Students must bring a centerfire handgun and at least 50 rounds of ammunition.

• If you don’t own a firearm, rentals are available. Our rental program also includes handguns with slide-mounted optics for those interested in trying red-dot sights.

Policies & Registration

• If you cannot attend, a credit for a future class (valid for 6 months) will be issued.

• No refunds will be provided.

• All students must sign an electronic waiver before class, releasing BySirShahly and ShahlyVisions by SirShahly LLC from liability during and after training.

• ShahlyVisions by SirShahly LLC carries instructor liability insurance for any issues that arise during class.

• Maryland training certificates are valid for 2 years before submitting an application for a Wear & Carry Permit or HQL. Virginia and Florida applications must be submitted within 1 year of training completion.
